The Blackcat bookshop has been selling second hand books in Leicester since 1987. We started business in the Victorian galleried Silver Arcade, and then moved to our Charles Street shop.

We closed our retail shop in July 2007 and now sell online, by mail order and at book fairs throughout the UK.

We also have a stall selling old books & other printed items etc on the Antiques market, most Wednesdays on Leicester market corner.

We specialise in used and rare books, Antiquarian to Modern Firsts, fiction in most genres including crime and detective, childrens collectable authors, science fiction and fantasy, horror, historical, poetry, proof copies, signed copies war and military etc. Also vintage magazines and football programmes...Non fiction in many subjects, printed ephemera, T.V & Film related items.

We also stock James Bond and Sherlock Holmes related items and produce occasional catalogues for these and for British comics and annuals. Leicestershire & Rutland interest books and maps etc..
